Harvey Elliott Could Return To First-Team Action At Liverpool Much Earlier Than Expected

The 18-year-old midfielder has impressed since returning to Anfield following a season-long loan move to Blackburn, having joined Liverpool from Fulham back in 2019.

The youngster has been playing a back-up role in the senior side so far this campaign, making four Premier League appearances including in the trip to face Leeds on Sunday.

Although his display was cut short following a tackle from Pascal Struijk, there might just be reasons to be optimistic about the length of his rehabilitation.

According to Liverpool fan, and expert sports surgeon, Mike Hennessey, the lightning-fast response of the club’s medical staff could’ve reduced his time on the sidelines to just six months.

Speaking to the Mail, Hennessey said: “They were on giving him some sedation. It is good analgesia they use now which is inhaled.

“It looks like they reduced his ankle [put it back in place] there and then, which is what you need to do because the longer the ankle remains dislocated the more problems there will be for the soft tissue.”

Adding: “He had great care. They were straight on.”
