Harvey Elliott Suffered A Serious Injury To His Left Ankle During The Game With Leeds

There was a very sad incident at Elland Road as Harvey Elliott suffered a serious ankle injury after a bad challenge by Struijk. The Leeds central defender was sent off for the tackle.

In the 58th minute of the match between Leeds and Liverpool, the Reds were 0-2 up in a game which they seemed to have under control. But the worst news was still to come and it was not related to the score.

Leeds central defender Struijk, who came on in the first half to replace the injured Diego Llorente, slid in to try and win the ball. However, he went in scissors style on Elliott. Elliott, 18, had won over Klopp and had just nailed down a first team place.

‘Sky Sports’ decided not to show replays of the tackle or close up shots of the injured footballer. However, the face of all those present at Elland Road made it clear that it was a serious injury. The player was on the pitch for around seven minutes together with the medical staff and he went off on a stretcher to an ovation from the home crowd.

On social media, many people decided to compare it to Son’s tackle on Andre Gomes which saw the Portuguese suffer a serious ankle injury.
